We are very fond of Goodyear Welted shoes - some might even call it a bit of an obsession of ours. That is also the reason why we try to offer some truly luxurious pieces from time to time - to please the fellow classic shoes connoisseurs. These Oxford shoes made from genuine cordovan shell leather most certainly fall into that category.
Their deep burgundy-brown color and perfect leather are the first two things that catch one's eye. That is because the shoes are made from genuine cordovan shell leather - two small oval pieces from the back of a horse, the surface of which only provides enough for a single pair of shoes. This leather is subjected to a slow vegetable tanning process and is hand cut in the factory, and gives the shoe durability and shine with little maintenance. For these reasons - alongside with the fact that cordovan leather doesn't crease - cordovan leather is often considered the best material available.
We also have to pay some attention to the soles - premium German-made Joh. Rendenbach (JH) leather soles that are oak-bark ground-tanned, which makes them flexible, durable and waterproof.
The traditional Goodyear Welted construction means the shoes can be refurbished once you wear down the soles (which is gonna take quite some time) and a wider last makes them very comfortable to wear.
We recommend using the cedar shoe trees regularly to prolong the lifespan of your shoes.
Warning: Do not use classic turpentine-based cream polish to care for these shoes.
