John & Paul shirt sizes

Ready-to-wear shirts are terrible these days

John and I are no lumberjacks. We are on the skinnier side. Babyboomers might think that we work in IT. And there is a real problem to get a decent shirt for our body type off the rack.

If it fits around your neck, it's too big around your waist. If it fits around your body, it is cutting off your oxygen around your neck. Let's not even mention sleeve length.

We believe there should be other options than bespoke shirts, that costs about twice as much. That's why we started John & Paul.

Our vision is simple: picking the right size based just on your height and body type (e.g. I'm Medium Lean, John is Tall Lean) that gives you a better shirt than anything off the rack.

Simple choice even over the internet

We don't want you running around with tailor tape measure. Choosing the right size is simple.

Do you know your height? We bet you do.

Then just a quick look in the mirror. Scrawny? Proper six-pack? A little beer belly?

Take your pick from 4 body types: Extra Lean, Lean, AthleteLumberjack and Mountain. Our pictograms should help you too.

Extra Lean size is for men with narrow shoulders, bony chest and slender waist. It is our skinniest shirt.

Am I Extra Lean?

Take a look at our size table. If you know the size of your neck or have a tailor tape measurer to measure the width of your chest, you should figure out your size in no time.

A good indicator for Extra Lean types is every skinny shirt being too big around your waist. Or sleeves being too short if it fits around your waist.

Lean is the right choice for all slim men with medium V-shaped chest. It's the right size for the majority of young men. It has more space around the chest than Extra Lean but fits nicely around the waist.

Lean men can wear some slim fit shirts from other manufactures, even though, in all honesty, it usually isn't a very good fit. The waist might be a bit little loose, sleeves can be a little off, you know how it goes.

Athlete is for men with broad chests who need more space around their shoulders, chest and arm, but want a good fit around the waist.

The majority of Athletes will face one of two problems: it fits around the chest but is too big around the waist, or it fits around the waist but is too small around the chest.

Lumberjack is for the big men and swell guys who are looking for a well-fitting shirt with enough space around the chest and waist.

Am I Lumberjack?

Lumberjack is for proper men with strong arms and larger waists. Either hiding shredded abs or a little beer belly. We know how it goes.

Mountain is our newest and largest addition. If you are one of the men who found our Lumberjack is missing a little space around the belly area (you're definitely not alone), Mountain might be just the right fit for you.

Am I Mountain?

Take a look at our size table. If you know the size of your neck or have a tailor tape measurer to measure the width of your chest, you should figure out your size in no time.

Mountain is for men with broad shoulders whose bellies started to grow a little.
