About brand

Novesta is a Slovakian brand of high-quality handmade sneakers that follows the manufacturing tradition started by the progressive Czechoslovakian businessman Jan Antonín Baťa all the way back in 1939. Their sneakers have since become renowned for their elegance, imaginative designs and durability - thanks both to the fact that they only use certified natural materials and to the fact that all Novesta shoes are handmade in Partizánske, Slovakia.

GATs, or the German Army Trainers, are an example of a classic plain design without any additional fuss. When it comes to the durability and comfiness of these, well, that's a complete different story, as they come with anatomically shaped insoles and natural rubber soles. Their sturdiness is further enhanced by the choice of material: a lovely combination of suede and oiled leather.

For quite some time we have been on a lookout for a brand of casual shoewear that would combine imaginative design and durable quality and we are lucky to have discovered Novesta for you. Their shoes are handmade in Slovakia, continuing a local shoe industry tradition that has lasted decades.

  • Suede & oiled leather
  • Natural rubber soles
  • Sustainably sourced material
  • Durable and functional design
  • Discreet Novesta logo on the heel
  • Anatomically shaped insoles for maximum comfort
  • Handmade in Slovakia

In case you are not sure which size to choose, we suggest following approach:

  • Take a pair of shoes you like to wear and that are just the right fit. Take out the insole and step on it. Your own sole shouldn't overhang on any side - the insole has to be longer.
  • Measure the insole length - from one end to another, from center to center. Compare that with our size chart that also features the insole length.
  • If you are in between sizes, get the bigger one - your soles deserve to have enough room.
